The genocide in Gaza is unlike other genocides in history. It is not confined to a single geographic region but is happening worldwide. Simultaneously, the world has undergone a double Palestinianization: dissidents have been Palestinianized by national powers, while a Palestinianized consciousness has grown among the rest of the world. Palestine is a social and geopolitical laboratory, and its tragedy has spread to unexpected corners, from Europe to the United States, and across many countries of the Global South.
Palestine will be the Vietnam of the new generation. Like Vietnam, it will not change global geopolitics, because geopolitics will take different paths, but it will change how a generation perceives the dominant narrative. Radical change will take longer and will come with the new geopolitical balance or imbalance from the middle of this century onward. Currently, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is another of those urgent targets of global apartheid (military and financial) by the world's micro-elites before they lose absolute control.
