A Previous Life and other stories is a group of tales of encounters experienced by a psychiatrist and by some of his patients in various settings. It includes some looks into personal experiences of both patient and doctor. The main story is preceded by a personal vignette of the author leading to the impetus of the others, and the stories encompass the fears and triumphs of the patients as well as their humanity.
