Most relevant to this project, he is the author of \u003cem\u003eStaging Stigma: A Critical Examination of the American Freak Show\u003c\/em\u003e (Palgrave MacMillan, 2008) and \u003cem\u003eThe Monster in Theatre History: This Thing of Darkness\u003c\/em\u003e (Routledge, 2017), served as editor for a double issue of \u003cem\u003eDisability Studies Quarterly\u003c\/em\u003e on freak shows, and edited Alexander Iliev's \u003cem\u003eTowards a Theory of Mime\u003c\/em\u003e (Routledge, 2014) and Luis Valdez's \u003cem\u003eTheatre of the Sphere: The Vibrant Being\u003c\/em\u003e (Routledge, 2021).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eAnalola Santana\u003c\/b\u003e is Associate Professor in the Department of Theater at Dartmouth College, USA. She is the author of \u003cem\u003eTeatro y Cultura de Masas: Encuentros y Debates\u003c\/em\u003e (2010) and \u003cem\u003eFreak Performances: Dissidence in Latin American Theatre\u003c\/em\u003e (2018), the latter of which considers the significance of theatrical practices that use the \"freak\" as a medium to explore the continuing effects of colonialism on Latin American identity.
